For The Birds

*proposed architectural design for a french military aviary to house swallows as messenger birds. 1889

There are many ways to enhance the exterior of your home. One of the more popular ways is to add another home to your parcel.
Birdhouses are beautiful accessories for your property and have the added bonus of attracting and providing for a multitude of bird species.

Let's not forget the McMansions:

If none of the above domiciles suit your taste, you can always turn YOUR home into a birdhouse...

  1. Kathy, Your blog is so wonderful. So much research I'm really impressed. It is truly a treat reading and looking at what you are up to. Thanks

  3. Lucky birds have some high-falutin digs! These are wonderful garden accents.

  4. This was over the top...absolutely loved it!

  5. what fun! Ah, but what you may not realise is that No 2 floating duckhouse is a famous image in UK. We had a scandal around the expenses that Members of Parliament charged to the taxpayer. The member for Gosport, Hampshire had put in an invoice for just one of these. The Press never let him forget it. Another MP invoiced for clearing his moat so the shorthand for the whole affair was' moats and duckhouses'.

I love comments! Thank you for taking the time to do so. Unfortunately, I have been getting bulk spam, so I have enabled word verification (temporarily I hope) to try and put a stop to it. Thank you for understanding! k
