You Can Never Be Too Rich...

...or too thin.

Actually, you'll need a hefty $3,950.000 to squeeze into this slender New York City abode.

Strolling about the web this afternoon, I happened upon 75.5 Bedford Street, in the West Village.
The Millay House has been recently renovated.

You can cozy up to four wood-burning fireplaces, and tread upon re-claimed oak flooring.

There's a sleek state-of-the-art kitchen.

The property includes three bedrooms and two baths.

I was ready to pull out my checkbook even before I saw the private garden.

The Millay House has had several prominent occupants, including the anthropologist, Margaret Mead, stage and film stars, John Barrymore and Cary Grant, and of course its namesake, the poet, Edna St. Vincent Millay.

Now I know I just said that I was about to pull out my checkbook, however, that check would bounce into outer space. It's fun to window shop and dream though...isn't it?

  1. So your clever headline and opening line got me in... then I discover such an amazing piece of history. How can one little house have seen so many famous residents??? Extraordinary. And how wide is it exactly? Looks about 4 metres or so. Virginia x

    1. GD.....I WISH I had the talent to have produced the sweet watercolor in the first pic! I found it on the Realtor's website. There are more pics there. Isn't it a great place? I'm in a simplify my life phase right now...that place would really fit the bill!...the almost 4 million bill, that is!
