Stumped

I have to take a tree down...and it's killing me.

It's a lovely maple that sits perfectly between my front living room windows. Having become diseased, branches have been dropping all winter. Sometime in the next month it has to come down. I've known for a while, and am resigned to it, but I'll be planting three trees in my back yard to compensate for the loss. I'm not sure what to do about the stump. The tree is close to the house, so I'll probably have to grind it.

Something like this is not an option.

Love this, but it's not an option either.

Maybe I can save the stump and put it to good use...

I'm going to miss that tree...

  1. I know how you feel. I have an old tree in my front yard that two tree companies have told me not to put any money in to. Yet, I've paid to have it trimmed twice. I know I can take it down and plant another tree--or trees--but I'm just having a hard time coming to terms with taking it down.

  2. Could chainsaw the stump into a arm chair shape. Like this one... http://www.foodarian.com/tree-trunk-chair/

I love comments! Thank you for taking the time to do so. Unfortunately, I have been getting bulk spam, so I have enabled word verification (temporarily I hope) to try and put a stop to it. Thank you for understanding! k
