Great photos...some of them I have never seen. The one of her in the wild white hotpants deal...crazy!! It was so sad to hear the news today! xo Ashlyn
I love that photo of Ms. Elizabeth with feather headress. I haven't seen that before -- amazing. And while I'm not normally a fan of lavender, each room you've included here is tasteful.
What a spectular tribute to an American Icon! Your creative use of portraits and decor was inspired! YOur post was such art! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Yvonne
yes, she will truly be missed...she simply was great! wish you a beautiful day today - filled with a lot of sunshine! sunny greetings from germany, geisslein
Wonderful creative tribute to one of the very greats. She was so fabulous as an actress, style icon (minus perhaps the white outfit) and humanitarian. She will most definitely be missed!
You know, I think that the word "icon" is thrown around with indiscriminate abandon these days. Hell, my cleaning lady is an "icon". However, as your post beautifully expresses (and some of the other commenters have noted), the word "icon" is supremely appropriate for those who truly are. Icon=LT, LT=Icon.
Kathy- I have not seen a more beautiful ode to Elizabeth. I love how you incorporated the Elizabeth lavender with interior rooms- just wonderful. I think I will now go watch my DVD of National Velvet.... may she rest in peace....
I love comments! Thank you for taking the time to do so. Unfortunately, I have been getting bulk spam, so I have enabled word verification (temporarily I hope) to try and put a stop to it. Thank you for understanding! k
Kathy, she was a true icon, in film, in life always true to herself and an adventurer..fearless.
